Ralph Nader to Speak at BCC
Consumer advocate and former Green Party presidential candidate Ralph Nader will speak at Berkshire Community on Saturday afternoon, April 21, at 2 in the college’s Robert Boland Theatre. His presentation, “Challenging Corporate Power and Building Democracy,” is free and open to the public but requires a ticket for admission.
Tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-serve basis through the Office of Student Life in the Susan B. Anthony Center on BCC’s main campus in Pittsfield. Office hours are Monday - Friday from 8 to 4. Tickets may be obtained in-person, by phone or e-mail.

1. Ralph Nader was born at home during a blizzard on Feb. 27, 1934, in Winsted, Conn., to Lebanese Christian immigrants (Nadra and Rose, owners of a bakery/restaurant). The youngest of four children (two boys and two girls), he grew up speaking Arabic as well as English. Later he learned Chinese, Russian, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Owner Comments: Once again there is a total lack of "HARD NEWS" on this canidate. Of course that could be because he is a fringe canidate and has no chance of being elected.

Lack of Legitimate News about Ralph Nader
have spent the last twenty minutes searching the web for "Legitimate" news stories about Ralph Nader. All I have found is Opionon pieces and questionable articles on fringe blogs. I invite any Nader supporter to send me links to "Real" news reports about him that I can post to this site.

Ralph Nader Speaks on Progressive Change

Ralph Nader, famous consumer advocate, 2000 Presidential Election spoiler, and one of the “100 Most Influential Americans of All Time” according to The Atlantic Monthly, spoke on Valentine’s Day in Kresge Auditorium. Hosted by the ASSU Speaker’s Bureau, Stanford-in-Government, and the Stanford Law School’s American Constitutional Society, the event drew a large- but under capacity- mix of undergraduates, law students, and community members. In a speech entitled, “There Can Be No Daily Democracy with No Daily Citizenship,” Nader gave a thoughtful, matter-of-fact, and seemingly impromptu talk on civic engagement, academia, and general life philosophy.
Foremost, Nader stressed students’ “moral imperative to lead” through civic engagement and social justice. True to his usual form, Nader delivered this message from the perspective of the iconoclastic outsider, deriding everybody and everything from Republicans, to Democrats, to corporations, to public television, and even his old law school professors.

Nader is hardly the person that should be lecturing anyone on "Moral Imperative"! His leftest leanings and Anti-American rantings over the last 20 years or so and have included many calls to ignore laws for political reasons.

Ralph Nader: Hillary's Just a 'Bad Version of Bill Clinton'
Consumer advocate Ralph Nader hinted Thursday that he would enter the presidential race in next year if Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton becomes the Democratic Party's nominee.
"Flatters, panders, coasting, front-runner, looking for a coronation ... She has no political fortitude,” Nader said of Clinton during a radio appearance when he was asked to describe the former First Lady.

Ralph Nader on Sunday left the door open for another possible White House bid in 2008 and criticized Democratic front-runner
Hillary Clinton as "a panderer and a flatterer."
Asked on CNN's Late Edition news program if he would run in 2008, the lawyer and consumer activist said, "It's really too early to say. ... I'll consider it later in the year."
