New Delhi: US Democratic presidential hopeful Barak Obama has finally admitted a big mistake, saying his campaign staff made a serious error in a memo questioning Hillary Clinton's ties with India and Indian Americans.

The memo had referred to Hillary Clinton as 'D-Punjab', a play on journalistic shorthand meant to suggest the Senator from New York was actually a Democrat representing the Indian state Punjab. The document referred to Hollary's investments in India and her fundraising among Indian-Americans.

Senator John McCain's standing has dropped in Iowa among Republican contenders in the presidential race.

Once viewed as a front-runner, he's now in single digits.

McCain Warns Deportations Could Lead to Riots!

Just when the dust was beginning to settle following President Bush's latest assault on common sense, in which he accused conservatives of "spreading fear" by being honest about amnesty, Senator John McCain decided that fear mongering was not such a bad tactic after all.

In fact, McCain decided that fear mongering was essential in trying to sell his amnesty snake oil to a skeptical and increasingly suspicious public. On June 2, McCain rolled out his fear-based defense of amnesty on the campaign trail in Le Mars, Iowa.

Responding to a question about deportation of illegal aliens, McCain delivered the following dilly:

"In case you hadn't noticed, the thousands of people who have been relegated to ghettos have risen up and burned cars in France,'' McCain said. ``They've got huge problems in France. They have tremendous problems. The police can't even go into certain areas in the suburbs of Paris. I don't want that in the suburbs of America.''

Owner's Comments: BS! Senator McCain is pandering to the Hispanic vote and trying his best to convince everyone else that it would be to "Hard" or "Dangerous" for us to deport illegals. The logical outgrowth of that type of thinking is that it is to "Hard" or "Dangerous" for us to arrest Drug pushers so lets just stop now. Senator McCain it is time for you to switch parties, you are NOT a Republican! By The way I strongly recommend everyone read this article it is excellent.

Rep. Duncan Hunter: 'I Will Never Abandon Israel'

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- "I can pledge this to you: If I should be elected president of the United States, I will never, never, never abandon Israel," emphatically announced Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., before enthused attendees of "A Night to Honor Israel" at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall at Northern Virginia Community College, Sunday night.

Hunter, an announced presidential candidate, immediately followed an impassioned plea from Rev. Jan Willem Van Der Hoven, who in his "Greetings from Israel" address declared that an American pull-out in Iraq would be tantamount to an abandonment of Israel, a nation surrounded by enemies in the Middle East. "Let's not trade oil for Jews!" he exclaimed.

10 Questions for Tom Tancredo

What evidence would convince you that global warming is a serious threat to the planet? —Jeff Young, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

I have no doubt that global warming exists. I just question the cause and what we can do to ameliorate it. But I wonder why the Sierra Club isn't going crazy about the environmental aspects of massive immigration into the U.S. The fact is, Americans consume more energy than anyone else, so if a person moves here from another country, they automatically become bigger polluters.

If you were given a choice between catching Osama bin Laden and deporting all illegal immigrants, which would you choose? —John M. Spalding, NEW YORK CITY

That kind of hypothetical choice would never happen, of course, but I guess I would take Osama immediately, and then my next step would be to deport all the illegal aliens.

Brownback Clarifies Stance on Evolution

Presidential hopeful Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kansas) submitted an opinion column to the New York Times on Thursday explaining in detail his position on evolution.

In his Op-Ed piece, the Catholic conservative specified how science and faith must be looked at together when discussing intricate issues such as evolution. He added that evolution, for the most part, has much validity to it while at the same time lacks substance in many instances.

“The truths of science and faith are complementary,” explained Brownback. “[T]hey deal with very different questions, but they do not contradict each other because the spiritual order and the material order were created by the same God.”

Texas Congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul has added his voice to those who believe Texas Governor Rick Perry should be investigated for a criminal violation of the Logan Act after he jetted off to meet with foreign elites yesterday at the Bilderberg Group conference in Istanbul.

Perry's trip to Turkey is a clear violation of the Logan Act which states that "Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both."

Tommy Thompson: Iraq War May Be Won or Lost This Week

May 29, 2007 -- Madison – Saying it was time for the Iraqi Parliament to democratize oil revenues, former Wisconsin Governor, Tommy Thompson, called on Iraq's elected officials to meet the May 31 deadline and to see that every family in Iraq receive direct payments from the country's oil profits.

“If Iraq fails to pass a revenue sharing law that directly benefits every family in Iraq, then democracy and capitalism in the country will face a bleak future,” said Thompson. “Winning the war in Iraq means establishing a functioning democracy among monarchies and dictators. But concentrating oil dollars among governments and oil companies, and leaving the people out, will only lead to the same old 'top down' system that has already failed.”

Dodd will hold a live chat at the popular blog FireDogLake today at 5 p.m. ET where he will announce plans to introduce an amendment to the upcoming Defense Authorization bill that would bring an end to American involvement in Iraq's civil war.

"The Dodd Amendment will improve accountability, provide a timetable for the Iraqi government to get its house in order, and safely and responsibly redeploy our troops and bring them home. Now is the time to responsibly bring an end to our involvement in another country's civil war while rebuilding our Reserve and Guard units."

Presidential candidate and Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) on Tuesday in Iowa City, Iowa, announced a proposal that would expand health insurance to almost all U.S. residents and reduce premium costs, the New York Times reports (Toner/Healy, New York Times, 5/30).

The proposal would require health insurance for children but not adults (McCormick/Dorning, Chicago Tribune, 5/30). Hillary Clinton Defends Use of Corporate Jet for Family Vacations

On Wednesday, Hillary Clinton was challenged by the press about the Clinton family’s acceptance of more than $900,000 in free private travel from Infousa, a company linked to scamming the elderly.

Her reply? She said that she had complied with all Senate ethics rules and reimbursed the company for the amount of a first class air ticket — usually about 1 percent of the cost of the luxurious private jet travel. According to Hillary, “Those were the rules. You’ll have to ask someone else if it’s good policy.”
